Mélida Hodgson Spoke at the 2019 International Law Annual Conference

Partner Mélida N. Hodgson spoke on a panel titled “The Trump Effect on the Future of Global Dispute Resolution,” at the 2019 Section of International Law Annual Conference.  The panel focused on how the current US administration has introduced an altered geopolitical landscape for US foreign policy, international relations, international law and related dispute resolution.  The panelists considered the future of global dispute resolution as it applies to foreign policy, human rights, the emergence of the new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA, also known as NAFTA 2.0), the rise of extraterritorial regulations and sanctions in an era of diminishing multilateral agreements and the impact of new tariffs on the World Trade Organization (WTO).
