“Training Workshop on International Arbitration,” Ministry of Economy and Finance Exhibition, Lima
On February 21 and 22, Jenner & Block Partner Patrick W. Pearsall was invited to Lima, Peru, by the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Patrick specially designed a two-day workshop to help the government develop strategies to mitigate risks associated with international investment disputes for public officials of ministries, state entities and agencies of the Peruvian State.
The exhibition covered topics such as the emergence of investment treaties, the development of investment arbitration and the management of claims. Mr. Pearsall also addressed the actions that can be taken for preventing disputes, as well as the future of the investor dispute resolution system.

Mr. Pearsall is chair of the firm’s Public International Law Practice and a member of the International Arbitration, Government Controversies and Public Policy Litigation, and Energy Practices. He is a former chief of investment arbitration at the US State Department.
