Jenner & Block Partners Terri L. Mascherin and Andrew W. Vail will present at the NACDL's 2019 Midwinter Meeting and Seminar.  The two-day meeting will focus, first, on litigating the admissibility of identifications using the latest psychological research.  The second day will focus on false confessions, with experienced trial lawyers outlining winning cross-examination techniques, trial strategies and how to select a jury.  Their session will be held on the second day, February 15, and is titled “From Confession to Acquittal: In-Depth Trial Strategies for the Confession Case.”  The meeting will be held in Phoenix.

Ms. Mascherin is a partner in the firm's Litigation Department, co-chair of the Professional Responsibility Practice, and a member of the Complex Commercial Litigation and International Arbitration Practices.  She has been nationally recognized for her legal work, including her pro bono representation of death row inmates and her work to promote effective representation of defendants in capital cases.

Mr. Vail is a first-chair litigator who has significant experience in both federal and state courts, representing individuals, privately held, public and Fortune 500 companies as both plaintiff and defense counsel.  He has represented a number of pro bono clients at trial and post-conviction proceedings.
