Hot Button Enforcement Issues for Private Funds,” Practising Law Institute

Jenner & Block Partner Thomas C. Newkirk will be a panelist in a session that will focus The Clayton SEC – what has changed and what remains the same; the SEC’s and FINRA’s recent focus on private equity; disclosure of fees and costs; use of big data in developing enforcement cases; and cybersecurity issues for private funds.  Sponsored by the Practising Law Institute, the panel is part of PLI’s Hedge Fund and Private Equity Enforcement and Regulatory Developments 2018 forum on October 9, 2018, in New York.  Mr. Newkirk’s panel will be held at 1:45 pm Eastern.

Mr. Newkirk is co-chair of the Securities Litigation and Enforcement Practice. Drawing on his 19 years as a senior official with the Securities and Exchange Commission, he represents companies and their leaders in confidential investigations related to such issues as accounting, disclosure, insider trading and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
