“How to Succeed in Business Without Bribery: Staying on the Right Side of Anti-Corruption Laws,” ACC-New York

Jenner & Block Partners Matthew D. Cipolla and Brandon D. Fox will speak on a panel titled “How to Succeed in Business Without Bribery:  Staying on the Right Side of Anti-Corruption Laws.”  The panel will cover the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other anti-bribery laws, with a focus on recent FCPA enforcement trends.  The goal of the session is to provide practical guidance to in-house counsel regarding how to resolve FCPA investigations and how to design compliance programs that spot potential FCPA problems early and address them effectively.  It will also include discussion of the increasingly coordinated international enforcement of anti-bribery laws, an important consideration for in-house counsel supporting multinational businesses.  Part of the ACC-New York’s Compliance Institute, the session will be held on September 13, 2018, at The Paley Center for Media in New York.

Other panelists include Andrea De Shazo, associate general counsel, Ethics and Compliance at Western Digital;  Alix Smith, deputy chief of the Business and Securities Fraud Section at the US Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of New York;  and Daniel Spitzer, legal director, Anticorruption Compliance Counsel at PepsiCo.
