“State of Flux – Analyzing Recent Transmission ROE Decisions and the Impacts on Transmission Return on Equity,” Energy Bar Association Annual Meeting

Jenner & Block Partner Suedeen G. Kelly will moderate a panel of lawyers from opposite trenches in two cases that will significantly impact the calculation of return on equity for transmission companies:  CPUC v. FERC (decided by the Ninth Circuit in January 2018) and Emera Maine v. FERC (decided by the DC Circuit in April 2017).  Titled “State of Flux – Analyzing Recent Transmission ROE Decisions and the Impacts on Transmission Return on Equity,” the session will focus on the lawyers’ involvement in the litigation of these significant decisions.  They will share insights on the importance of the decisions for the calculation of transmission ROE and transmission investment and will discuss whether changes at FERC may (or should) be coming in light of the decisions.  A representative from firm client Pacific Gas & Electric will present as a panelist.  The two-day conference begins May 7 at the Renaissance Downtown Hotel in Washington, DC.  Ms. Kelly’s session will take place May 7 at 11am.
