“Digital Media and the Future of Entertainment,” Penn Law School

On April 3, 2018, Partner Alison I. Stein and Associate Ava U. McAlpin will participate in a panel discussion titled “Digital Media and the Future of Entertainment.” Co-hosted by the Penn Law Entertainment and Sports Law Society and the Penn Law Film Society, the panel will address how their respective and varied practices have been impacted by changes in the digital media space and forecast what’s to come in the entertainment industry. Specifically, Ms. Stein and Ms. McAlpin will address streaming in the music industry.

Ms. Stein, an intellectual property litigator in the firm's Content, Media and Entertainment Practice, focuses on matters involving entertainment litigation, content protection, copyright infringement, copyright terminations, trademark enforcement, trade secrets, unfair competition, defamation, licensing negotiations and contractual disputes.  She represents a wide range of companies and individuals, including record labels, media organizations, publishing companies, performing rights organizations, television companies, fashion companies, technology companies, financial organizations, authors and individual artists.

Ms. McAlpin is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department and Content, Media and Entertainment Practice.  Her practice focuses on matters involving content protection, copyright infringement, trademark enforcement, unfair competition, and contractual disputes.
