On Wednesday, March 14, Jenner & Block Partners Anthony S. Barkow and Katya Jestin will participate in a panel discussion at the 10th annual Global Ethics Summit. Titled “Corporate Response to Crisis: What Happens When Your Company Is Under Scrutiny?” the program will focus on how a corporation can best navigate the complexities of an internal investigation, including how to deal with complicated legal and ethical issues, better manage internal investigations, interact with government agencies and address sensitive inquiries. Sponsored by Ethisphere, the two-day program will take place at the Grand Hyatt in New York City. Mr. Barkow and Ms. Jestin’s session will begin at 2:15 pm ET.
Mr. Barkow and Ms. Jestin are co-chairs of the firm’s Investigations, Compliance and Defense Practice. Mr. Barkow represents companies and executives in global/cross-border and national criminal and regulatory investigations. He also conducts internal investigations on behalf of corporate clients, provides counsel to senior management on enforcement and compliance issues, and serves as a corporate monitor. As a federal prosecutor in Manhattan and Washington, DC, and in Main Justice, he prosecuted some of the most significant international terrorism and white collar criminal cases in the country.
Ms. Jestin represents companies and executives in criminal, regulatory, and congressional investigations, including before the United States Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the US Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. She also conducts internal investigations on behalf of corporate clients, provides counsel to senior management on FCPA and other compliance issues, and served as counsel to the Examiner in the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy examination. As a federal prosecutor and a supervisor in the Eastern District of New York, she prosecuted and convicted the leadership of three of the five organized crime families of La Cosa Nostra.
