“What In-House Counsel Need to Know About Trade Secret Litigation,” Association of Corporate Counsel of New York

On October 24, 2017, Jenner & Block Partners Elizabeth A. Edmondson and Brian J. Fischer, General Counsel of Sharp Electronics Corporation Kevin Fox, and Vice President and Counsel at Two Sigma Investments Gregory Shih participated in a panel discussion titled “What In-House Counsel Need to Know About Trade Secret Litigation.” Co-sponsored by the Association of Corporate Counsel of New York, the program provided helpful advice to in-house counsel, educating them on best practices when faced with a trade secret emergency and offering lessons-learned from experienced counsel. Topics discussed included the recent rise of trade secret cases, how to protect and prepare for trade secret emergencies and how to best respond to challenges that arise as a result of trade secret theft.

Ms. Edmondson is a litigator in the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation and International Arbitration practice groups. Her practice focuses on counseling clients in complex contractual disputes, particularly in the manufacturing, energy and aerospace industries.  She also has experience litigating disputes concerning intellectual property rights.

Mr. Fischer is a litigation partner in Jenner & Block’s Complex Commercial Litigation Practice Group.  He has extensive experience advocating for his clients—Fortune 500 and other major companies, hedge funds, individuals—in a wide range of commercial and regulatory disputes in courts at all levels throughout the country and in arbitral settings.  Mr. Fischer regularly counsels and represents clients involved in disputes over trade secrets and related intellectual property.
