“Is the Tide Changing Again on the Viability of 101 and 112 as Defenses in Patent Litigation?” Practising Law Institute

Jenner & Block Partner Reginald J. Hill will speak at the Practising Law Institute’s (PLI) “Patent Litigation 2017: Advanced Techniques & Best Practices” Seminar.  Titled “Is the Tide Changing Again on the Viability of 101 and 112 as Defenses in Patent Litigation?” his session will explore the state of the law in this area and winning strategies for both plaintiffs and defendants when §101 and §112 claims are raised, including whether venue is a factor.  The seminar will be held from October 12 to13 at the University of Chicago Gleacher Center.  Mr. Hill will present on October 12 at 11:30 am.

During this program, outside and in-house lawyers with national reputations in patent litigation will offer guidance on trying and managing bench and jury patent trials, as well as US Patent Office post-grant trial proceedings. The program will furnish comprehensive coverage of every phase of these patent matters.   US District Court judges will provide their insights on the conduct and management of patent litigation, in addition to sharing practical tips for litigants.

Mr. Hill is co-chair of the firm’s Patent Litigation and Counseling Practice.  Corporations seek his counsel on a variety of patent, copyright, trademark and trade secret matters, particularly in relation to technology.
