Jenner & Block Partner Anne P. Ray will participate in an ethics panel as part of the Practising Law Institute’s 22nd Annual Consumer Financial Services Institute in Chicago.  Titled “Ethical Issues Unique to the Consumer Space and Class Actions,” the discussion will cover a range of topics including conflicts of interest in class actions; whistleblower bounties; ethical limits on contacting former employees; the ABA's recently adopted anti-discrimination rule for lawyers; and ethical issues in the use of social media by lawyers and/or clients.  Joining Ms. Ray on the panel will be retired Judge James Holderman.  The panel will be held at 3:30 p.m. on May 5, the second day of the two-day Institute at Hotel Allegro, 171 W. As a member of the firm’s Professional Responsibility Practice, Ms. Ray represents large, national and international law firms in defense of complex, high-stakes professional liability litigation at both the trial and appellate level. She has successfully argued numerous motions to dismiss in cases against law firms accused of breaching their ethical duties and fiduciary duties to their clients and third parties.
