“Lessons in Governance: Reputational Risk Management,” 37th Annual Ray Garrett Jr. Corporate and Securities Law Institute

Jenner & Block Partners Randall E. Mehrberg and Reid J. Schar recently participated in a panel discussion that explored the Volkswagen emissions crisis that erupted in 2015.  Titled “Lessons in Governance: Reputational Risk Management,” the program used a mock board meeting format in which panelists discussed how to prepare for and respond to a crisis; engaging with constituents; and the role of the board versus the role of management.  Other panelists included D. Cameron Findlay, senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of Archer Daniels Midland Company; Thomas B. Johnson, chief executive officer of Abernathy MacGregor; and Jan Stern Reed, independent board member, AngioDynamics and Stepan Company.  Chaired by Mr. Mehrberg, the session was held on April 27, 2017, during the 37th Annual Ray Garrett Jr. Corporate and Securities Law Institute.  The Northwestern Pritzker School of Law sponsors the Institute, which provides private practitioners and corporate counsel with a timely analysis of current issues and developments confronting corporations.
