Jenner & Block Partners Lawrence S. Schaner and Richard F. Ziegler will speak at the annual meeting of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR).  Mr. Schaner will moderate a panel titled “Arbitration: Procedural Fairness v. Efficiency,” which will explore from various perspectives what procedures are (or are not) best suited to achieve the goals of resolving disputes without undue delay or expense while ensuring that the parties are treated equally and have a reasonable opportunity to be heard.  Mr. Ziegler will be a panelist in a panel titled “Ethics,” which will explore ethics issues involved in balancing arbitral efficiency and fairness, with a specific focus on arbitrator conflicts of interest, developments in disclosure obligations of arbitrators and disclosure obligations of counsel.  Their sessions will be held on March 3, 2017, the second day of the three-day meeting in Coral Gables, Florida.

Mr. Schaner, co-chair of the firm’s International Arbitration Practice, represents parties in commercial disputes before arbitral tribunals and courts.  He serves as an arbitrator in a wide range of complex business disputes.

Mr. Ziegler, co-chair of the firm's International Arbitration Practice, focuses his practice on international arbitration as both counsel and neutral and on complex commercial litigation and arbitration.   He is also a member of CPR’s Board of Directors.
