The program, scheduled for Wednesday, January 25, 2017, from noon to 1 p.m. at Cili at Bali Hai Golf Club in Las Vegas, will provide an overview of internal investigations, which often trigger or follow government investigations. The panelists will also explore ethical issues involved and share their own experiences working on investigations. Matthew Frank, Senior Associate General Counsel & Deputy Global Chief Compliance Officer at Las Vegas Sands Corp., will co-present.
Mr. Schar co-chairs the firm’s White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice and is a Fellow of the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers. Mr. Schar has led domestic and foreign internal investigations on behalf of a variety of clients across a wide range of industries and has experience handling compliance reviews around the globe. He regularly interacts with the Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission, and other regulatory bodies in enforcement actions and investigations on behalf of clients.
Mr. Thomson is a litigator who concentrates primarily on complex commercial disputes. In addition, he works closely with the firm’s White Collar Defense & Investigation Practice, and has substantial experience with internal, government, and criminal investigations. Mr. Thomson has been recognized as one of the Law Bulletin Publishing Company’s “40 Under Forty” attorneys in Illinois.
