Jenner & Block Partner Matthew L. Jacobs planned and organized a conference that will explore issues surrounding cyber liability insurance coverage and recruited Willis Towers Watson as a partner to co-chair the conference for February 2, 2017, at Willis’ offices in London. Both Mr. Jacobs and Partner Charlie Lightfoot will speak at the event. Mr. Jacobs will speak first at a panel titled “Operations and Pitfalls: Will Your Cyber Policy be Worth the Paper It’s Written On?” In the second panel, Mr. Jacobs will speak on the topic of “The Potential ‘Disconnect’ Between Underwriting and Claims Handling: Will Your Cyber Insurance Claim be Covered?” Mr. Lightfoot will speak at a panel titled “Ransomware Attacks: A Growing Concern in the United States and Europe – Will current Cyber Policies Respond to Cyber-Extortion; Are Policy Definitions Broad Enough?” Other panelists will be representatives from Willis Towers Watson.
Mr. Jacobs is a member of the firm’s Insurance Recovery and Counseling and Reinsurance Practices and has been successfully litigating insurance coverage matters for more than 25 years. He handles complex, multi-party insurance coverage matters in state and federal courts.
Mr. Lightfoot leads the firm's London-based international arbitration and litigation practices and serves as the managing partner of the London office. He has extensive experience handling high-value international arbitrations in both the commercial and investor/state arenas.
