Jenner & Block Partner Reid J. Schar moderated a CLE program for the Chicago Bar Association.  Titled “News from the Regulators,” the panel consisted of senior enforcement lawyers speaking on the current priorities of the US Securities and Exchange Commission, the US Attorney’s Office, the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.  Panelists included David A. Glockner, director of the Chicago Regional Office of the Securities and Exchange Commission; Jason A. Yonan, assistant US attorney and section chief for the Securities and Commodities Fraud Section of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois; Mark A. Koerner, regional chief counsel of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority; and Scott R. Williamson, deputy regional counsel for the Division of Enforcement of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission.  Presented by the CBA Securities Law Committee, the program was held on May 17, 2016, at the CBA.

Mr. Schar is co-chair of the White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice and a Fellow of the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers. A former assistant US attorney, he tried more than 20 criminal cases, many involving sophisticated fraud and financing issues.  Clients regularly turn to Mr. Schar with their most significant white collar matters and investigations as well as complex commercial litigation matters.
