Jenner & Block Partner April A. Otterberg will speak at the American Bar Association’s National Legal Malpractice Conference in New Orleans. Titled “Ethics Gumbo: First You Make a Roux,”her session will explore ethics issues that arise with some frequencyin defending legal malpractice cases, including conflicts of interest, the law firm attorney-client privilege, and client confidentiality. Referencing ethics decisions and caselaw, Ms. Otterberg and other panelists will discuss how to recognize and address ethics matters that can directly affect the nature of and strategy for defending a legal malpractice claim. Her session will be held on April 28, 2016, the second day of the three-day conference at the Roosevelt New Orleans Waldorf Astoria.
Ms. Otterberg is a member of the Professional Responsibility and ERISA Litigation Practices. Her professional responsibility practice includes defending lawyers and law firms from pending or threatened legal malpractice and related claims.
