Jenner & Block Partners Andrew F. Merrick and Howard S. Suskin will participate in a Chicago Bar Association program that will explore how solo and small practice firm practitioners can use alternative dispute resolution to build their business.  Mr. Merrick will moderate the discussion, and Mr. Suskin will be a panelist.  The program is part of a meeting of the CBA’s Joint Alternative Dispute Resolution & Solo/Small Firm Practitioners Committee.  It will be held on February 2, 2016, at the CBA, 321 S. Plymouth Court.

Mr. Merrick is a partner in the Complex Commercial Litigation Practice, as well as a member of its Class Action and International Arbitration Practices.  He represents corporations and individuals in a variety of complex commercial litigation disputes in state and federal courts and alternative dispute resolution forums across the United States and abroad.  He serves as vice chairman of the CBA’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee.

Mr. Suskin is co-chair of the firm’s Class Action Practice and Securities Litigation and Enforcement Practice.  He has substantial first-chair experience representing individuals and business entities in civil and criminal securities matters, including class actions alleging securities fraud and misrepresentation claims, derivative actions claiming breach of fiduciary duty, contests for corporate control, insider trading investigations and broker-dealer issues.  He serves as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and for securities self-regulatory organizations including FINRA, Chicago Board Options Exchange and the National Futures Association.  He has significant experience counseling clients in arbitrations.
