“Government Contracts Mergers and Acquisitions 101,” ABA CLE Section of Public Contract Law

Jenner & Block Partner Damien C. Specht discussed mergers and acquisitions in the government contract sector during a panel of the ABA CLE Section of Public Contract Law.  Titled “Government Contracts Mergers and Acquisitions 101,” the session examined the rise of mergers and acquisitions in this sector and offered an overview of the unique structuring and regulatory issues that could impact a merger or acquisition involving a government contractor.   The panelists provided insight on how to perform due diligence on acquisitions involving federal contracts and how to address these issues in purchase agreements and disclosure schedules.  The program was held on January 12, 2016, in Washington, DC.

Mr. Specht is co-chair of the Government Contracts Corporate Transactions Group.  In addition to representing clients in all facets of government contracts mergers and acquisitions, he has experience in a variety of government contracts matters, including Federal Acquisition Regulation counseling, preparation of subcontracts and teaming agreements, contract disputes and both pre- and post-award bid protests.
