“Defeating Class Certification by Attacking Plaintiffs’ Classwide Damages Models,” Strafford

Jenner & Block Partner Jeremy M. Creelan will speak at a webinar that will examine defense strategies to defeat class certification by attacking the plaintiffs’ classwide damages model.  Titled “Defeating Class Certification by Attacking Plaintiffs’ Classwide Damages Models,” the CLE webinar will provide guidance for class action defense counsel on defeating class certification after the seminal Comcast v. Behrend decision.  In Comcast, the US Supreme Court held that the damages model that plaintiffs rely on to demonstrate predominance must measure only those damages connected to the plaintiffs’ theory of liability.  The panelists will offer their insight on common damages models put forth in litigation, how the courts have addressed them, and strategies for attacking them under Daubert based on economic, statistical or methodological flaws.  The 90-minute live webinar, sponsored by Strafford, will be held from 1-2:30 pm on December 22, 2015.

Mr. Creelan is a highly experienced litigator who re-joined Jenner & Block as a partner in 2014 after serving for three years in the administration of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.  He is a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department and a member of the Complex Commercial Litigation and Government Controversies and Public Policy Litigation Practice.
