Jenner & Block Partner Terri L. Mascherin will discuss the Chicago Bar Foundation’s Justice Entrepreneurs Project (JEP) at a meeting of the Chicago Legal Innovation & Technology Meetup. Ms. Mascherin is chair of the JEP Steering Committee. Titled “The Future Is Now: The Justice Entrepreneurs Project,” Ms. Mascherin’s presentation explains that the Chicago Bar Foundation saw an opportunity in two problems: more and more lawyers graduating law school and having difficulty finding their way, and more and more clients unable to access affordable legal services. The JEP is a legal incubator, training new law graduates to build practices, leveraging the use of technology to provide affordable services with transparent pricing to clients who fall in the “Justice Gap” – clients who earn too much to qualify for free legal aid but not enough to pay lawyers at traditional rates. Her presentation will be held at 5:30 pm on November 19, 2015, at Perkins Coie LLP, 131 S. Dearborn Street.
Ms. Mascherin is a member of the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation; International Arbitration; and Trademark, Advertising and Unfair Competition Practices. She represents businesses in disputes over corporate transactions, partnerships, joint ventures, licenses and contracts. She is a Past President of the Chicago Bar Association and, in 2013, she was inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, considered the premier professional trial organization in North America.
