Jenner & Block Partner Thomas J. Perrelli moderated a panel discussion among US Department of Justice leaders and others about domestic violence in Indian Country. The panel was held as part of the DOJ’s Domestic Violence Observation Month event and focused on implementation of the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013. Mr. Perrelli served for three years as Associate Attorney General of the United States, the third highest-ranking official in the U.S. Department of Justice. During his tenure, he championed the legislation, which gave federal prosecutors new tools to address violence against women, including in Indian Country. Speakers included Attorney General Loretta Lynch, Associate Attorney General Stuart Delery and representatives of several tribes. The event was held on October 6, 2015, at the DOJ.
Mr. Perrelli is a nationally recognized litigator who re-joined Jenner & Block as a partner in 2012 after serving for three years as Associate Attorney General of the United States. He is the founder and chair of the Government Controversies and Public Policy Litigation Practice. He represents businesses, governmental entities and their leaders at the intersection of law, business and government regulation.
