On August 6, 2015, Jenner & Block and Exelon co-hosted the Just the Beginning Foundation (JTBF) Summer Legal Institute luncheon. The firm has participated for several years in the Summer Legal Institute, a program for high school students interested in learning more about preparing for college and careers in the law. The curriculum involves interactive, exciting and fun activities designed to motivate, inspire and encourage students on a path towards academic and personal success now and in the future. This year, volunteers from Exelon and the firm spent time with 50 high school students. The luncheon activity involved the students interviewing the attorneys at their table and then presenting what they learned to the entire group. “We appreciate the opportunity to partner with the JTBF and look forward to hosting this event each summer. The high school students are interested, engaged and prepared to talk to us about what we do as lawyers and why they should consider law as a career. It is a wonderful event enjoyed by all,” said Partner E. Lynn Grayson. In addition to Ms. Grayson, other firm participants included Partners Terri L. Mascherin, Steven M. Siros and Allison A. Torrence; Associates Precious S. Jacobs and Kevin M. Waklatsi; Staff Attorney Alexis N. Gabay; Of Counsel Andi S. Kenney; Litigation Counsel Lisa M. Schoedel; Jami de Lou, associate director of Talent Development Diversity & Inclusion; and Mary Chavez-Calkins, Talent Development & Inclusion manager.
