“Food Labeling: Genetically Modified Organisms,” The Federalist Society for Law & Public Policy Studies

Jenner & Block Partner Kenneth K. Lee spoke at a podcast that examined the recent surge in consumer class action lawsuits challenging “all natural” labels found in food products.  Many  lawsuits have targeted “all natural” food products that have ingredients made from so-called Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). Plaintiffs have argued that these food products cannot be labeled as “all natural” because GMOs are not natural. The program provided a background on “all natural” labeling and GMOs and offered a discussion on recent case law and trends in this still-developing area of law.  The other participant in the podcast was Stephen Gardner, the former director of litigation at the Center for Science in the Public Interest.

Mr. Lee is a member of the Complex Commercial Litigation Practice and has handled dozens of consumer class actions in California and elsewhere.
