Jenner & Block Partner Steven R. Trybus will serve as a dialogue leader at a session of The Sedona Conference, to be held May 18-19 in Miami, Florida.  The two-day event is the joint Midyear Meeting for the Conference’s Working Group 9 on Patent Damages and Remedies and Working Group 10 on Patent Litigation Best Practices. Working groups bring together leading attorneys, jurists, academics and regulators from around the world.  The meetings resemble a think tank discussion, developing ideas and analyses that will contribute to the development of law and policy.  Held on May 18, Mr. Trybus’ session will focus on the impact of Octane Fitness/Highmark: proposed best practices for the litigation and management of attorney-fee shifting motions.

Mr. Trybus is a litigator who focuses on trials and appeals of complex patent disputes. He has worked on matters involving a wide variety of technologies. Mr. Trybus also has worked with technology related to containers, food processing equipment and other mechanical devices. In addition to litigation in various US District Courts, he counsels his clients in the worldwide protection and enforcement of intellectual property and has experience coordinating foreign proceedings, including patent oppositions, as a part of multi-national patent disputes. He also has significant experience in contested proceedings in the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
