"Practice Perspectives: Tax Law," Harvard Law School, Cambridge, MA

Jenner & Block Partner Geoffrey M. Davis will speak at a Harvard Law School Practice Perspective Series on tax law to be held at the school on February 27. 

The panel is geared towards 1L students who have not yet taken a tax course in law school. The panel will feature a discussion about career paths in tax law and why law students should consider tax as a professional specialization in their legal career.

Mr. Davis will speak on a variety of topics including how he first got into tax law, his significant litigation experiences in the field, the pros and cons associated with tax law, and in-house opportunities for tax attorneys. He will also provide general advice for law students seeking to practice in this area.

Mr. Davis will be joined on the panel by Kenneth Y. Liu, an associate at Goulston & Storrs in Boston, Massachusetts.

Mr. Davis is a member of the Firm’s Tax, Real Estate Securities and Tax Controversy Practices.  He is also a member of the Firm’s Bankruptcy, Workout and Corporate Reorganization, and Private Equity/Investment Management Practices. Mr. Davis has a broad federal tax practice with significant experience in the areas of fund formation, acquisition and divestiture transactions, restructuring and financing transactions.
