"Walking the Line: Managing Privilege and Attorney-Client Communications," Martindale-Hubbell Counsel to Counsel Roundtable, New York, NY

Jenner & Block Partners David M. Greenwald and Stephen L. Ascher will participate in a Counsel to Counsel forum titled, "Walking the Line: Managing Privilege and Attorney-Client Communications," to be held on February 27 at the The Harvard Club, New York.

The forum will cultivate dynamic discussions of privilege in the context of conducting investigations, facing regulators, weighing disclosures and handling multijurisdictional privilege issues, and, it will foster insights into dealing with discovery, with particular reference to inadvertent production, waivers and the effectiveness of claw-back agreements.  Other featured topics for discussion include balancing open business communications with privilege concerns and partnering with outside counsel to manage privileged communications.

Mr. Greenwald is Co-Chair of the Firm’s Reinsurance Practice, and a member of the Firm’s Litigation Department and Insurance Litigation and Counseling, Government Contracts Practices, and White Collar Criminal Defense and Counseling.  He is the Editor of the Firm's Attorney-Client Privilege Update online resource center, which provides regular reports on this legal issue, and he has an extensive list of authoritative publications on the matter.  He also frequently speaks on topics relating to the attorney-client privilege, work product doctrine and other testimonial privileges, particularly with respect to the work of in-house counsel.

Mr. Ascher is a member of the Firm’s Litigation Department and Business Litigation, Securities Litigation, Class Action Litigation, and White Collar Criminal Defense Practices, who has represented institutions and individuals in cases involving the antitrust laws, RICO claims, fraud and breach of fiduciary duty claims, and the securities laws.
