Jenner & Block Partner Reena J. Bajowala recently spoke at an event sponsored by the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA) and the South Asian Law Student Association (SALSA) of Northwestern University Law School.  Ms. Bajowala participated in a panel discussion titled “Path to Partner,” with other Asian-American partners from Kirkland & Ellis, Quarles & Brady and Sidley Austin.
The panelists shared their experiences in rising to the partner level in their firms, including addressing issues such as when, in their careers, they decided they wanted to be a partner; what the most challenging obstacle to partnership was for each of them; whether there were mentors who helped along the way; and, what the most important considerations are when deciding whether to try to make partner?  The program was held at the NU School of Law on March 10, 2015.
Ms. Bajowala is a partner in the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation, Class Action, ERISA Litigation and Technology Litigation Practices.  She is active in several professional organizations that foster diversity in the legal profession, founded Jenner & Block’s Mother’s Circle of the Women’s Forum and serves on the Women’s Forum Steering Committee and the Diversity & Inclusion Committee.  Ms. Bajowala previously served as co-chair of the firm’s Asian Forum and on the firm’s Hiring Committee and Pro Bono Committee.
