“Patent Litigation 101/An Introduction to Patent Litigation,” University of Michigan Law School Intellectual Property Students’ Association

Jenner & Block Partner Benjamin J. Bradford spoke at a University of Michigan Law School event titled “Patent Litigation 101/An Introduction to Patent Litigation” on January 28, 2015.  The program was sponsored by the law school’s Intellectual Property Students’ Association.  Ben discussed the fundamentals of patent litigation, including how it is similar to and different from other types of litigation.  He explained the process of obtaining a patent,what types of patents are available and what the term of a patent is.  Ben also showed the students what a patent looks like.  Lastly Ben described how patentees enforce their patents against infringement and outlined potential defenses against a claim of infringement.

Ben concentrates in intellectual property/technology litigation with a focus on computer and Internet technologies.  He has significant experience litigating and counseling patent, trademark, trade secret and copyright issues.
