“Fair Compensation or a Pandora’s Box? Pre-1972 Sound Recordings and Streaming Radio,” New York chapter of the Copyright Society of the USA

Jenner & Block Partner Gianni P. Servodidio will speak at an event of the New York chapter of the Copyright Society of the USA.  Titled “Fair Compensation or a Pandora’s Box? Pre-1972 Sound Recordings and Streaming Radio,” the program will explore the topic of common law copyright and pre-1972 sound recordings. Gianni and other panelists will offer their insights on the legal framework and issues involved in recent lawsuits involving royalties for webcasting pre-1972 sound recordings.  The event will be held at The Princeton Club of New York on December 11, 2014, from noon-2 p.m. 

Gianni is a member of the firm’s Content, Media and Entertainment, Intellectual Property and Trademark, Advertising and Unfair Competition Practices.  His practice focuses on the intersection of IP law, technology and the Internet.  He has represented major motion picture studios and record companies in several of the leading digital copyright infringement cases of the past decade.
