Black Women Lawyers’ Association of Greater Chicago 1L Writing Workshop

Jenner & Block Associate Precious S. Jacobs facilitated a legal writing workshop for about 40 first year law students and LLMs on October 26.  The workshop was hosted by the firm and sponsored by the Black Women Lawyers’ Association of Greater Chicago (BWLA), an organization of African-American female attorneys, judges, law professors and law students that offers educational programs, mentoring/networking opportunities, community outreach, scholarship awards and various educational pipeline programs and initiatives.   Precious co-chairs the BWLA Law School Outreach Committee.  The workshop gave helpful tips on writing exams, briefs, and academic projects from professors at Loyola University School of Law, the John Marshall Law School, Valparaiso University Law School and DePaul University College of Law.  The firm is a platinum sponsor of the BWLA.

Precious is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department.  She has experience in such matters as bankruptcy, products liability and complex commercial litigation.  Precious is a board member on the Illinois Law Alumni Association Board.  She also serves the firm as a member of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee.
