Jenner & Block Partner Paul M. Smith will give opening remarks at George Washington University Law School’s Practicing Pro Bono event. The panel discussion will focus on the importance and feasibility of incorporating pro bono work into legal careers. Sponsored by the SBA Public Interest & Pro Bono Committee and the George Washington Law Public Interest and Pro Bono Program, the event will be held October 21, 2014, at the school’s Jacob Burns Moot Courtroom from 6-7:30 p.m. The school is located at 2000 H Street in Washington, D.C.
Paul is chair of the Appellate and Supreme Court Practice and co-chair of the Media and First Amendment and Election Law and Redistricting Practices. He has had an active Supreme Court practice for nearly three decades, including oral arguments in 15 Supreme Court cases involving matters ranging from free speech and civil rights to civil procedure.
