Jenner & Block Partner Gianni P. Servodidio will serve as a guest lecturer at a New York University course titled “Degas to Disney: Public Policy and the Arts” on November 11, 2009. 

Mr. Servodidio will present at a session titled “The Creative Industries: Technology, Creativity, and the Public Good in the Digital Age.”   He will speak about issues relating to online copyright infringement, fair use and digital sampling.

Mr. Servodidio is a partner in Jenner & Block’s New York Office and a member of the Firm’s Creative Content, Unfair Competition, False Advertising and Lanham Act, Technology Litigation and Intellectual Property Practices.  He has extensive experience in copyright, Internet and anti-piracy matters in federal courts nationwide.  Mr. Servodidio has represented motion picture studios and recording companies in digital copyright infringement cases involving the secondary liability of operators of BitTorrent websites and providers of access to Usenet.  He has obtained several high profile e-discovery rulings establishing the rights of content owners to obtain discovery of critical electronic records from pirate website operators.

In addition, Mr. Servodidio is a seasoned trademark lawyer with years of experience handling trademark, unfair competition, and false advertising cases.  His practice focuses on the intersection between trademark law, technology and the Internet and he counsels clients in disputes involving the protection of their Internet domain names, keyword advertising, meta-tags, deep linking and online branding issues.
