“Law and Regulation in the Wake of Natural Disasters: Environmental, Land Use, Reconstruction and Takings Issues in a Rapidly Changing Physical World,” American Bar Association Section of Environment, Energy and Resources (Constitutional Law Committee)

On March 24, 2014, Partner E. Lynn Grayson and Associate Alexander J. Bandza co-moderated an ABA teleconference titled “Law and Regulation in the Wake of Natural Disasters: Environmental, Land Use, Reconstruction and Takings Issues in a Rapidly Changing Physical World.”  The teleconference was presented by several ABA Sections and Divisions and featured private sector and academic representatives discussing current legal and regulatory challenges facing courts, regulators, scientists and practitioners after naturaldisasters.  Lynn moderated the panel discussion and Alex moderated the question-and-answer session that followed and made closing remarks.

Lynn is co-chair of Jenner & Block’s Environmental and Workplace Health & Safety Law Practice and co-editor of the firm’s Corporate Environmental Lawyer Blog.  She is recognized as one of the country’s leading lawyers in environmental law.  Her national practice involves defending clients in enforcement cases, managing EHS (environmental, health and safety)risk concerns and performing environmental due diligence, which includes a focus on water scarcity.

Alex is an associate in the firm’s Environmental and Workplace Health & Safety Law Practice.  He presently serves as a vice chair of the ABA’s Constitutional Law Committee of the Section of Environment, Energy and Resources.  Prior to joining Jenner & Block, Alex was an associate at Exponent Inc., a scientific and technical consulting firm, where he assisted law firms and corporations with environmental risks and liabilities arising out of litigation and regulation.
