Jenner & Block Partner Carter H. Klein spoke at the International Institute of Banking Law & Practice’s 2014 Americas Annual Survey of Letter of Credit Law & Practice seminar. Carter participated in two sessions during the two-day event in North Carolina. On March 14, he was a panelist in a session titled “Troublesome LC Practice & Legal Trends.” He and other panelists identified and discussed topics including the decline of the use of the LC, alternative trade finance methods, the applicant sponsored reimbursement agreement and improper practices. Later that day, Carter moderated a session titled “Lessons from Major LC Cases from the US & Around the World.”
Carter is a member of the Corporate, Corporate Finance and Bankruptcy, Workout and Corporate Reorganization Practices. He concentrates his practice on Uniform Commercial Code work, secured and unsecured lending, asset sales and purchases, trade finance, outsourcing, payments, financial services and regulation and credit enhancements and workouts.
