“Current Developments in Federal Civil Practice 2014,” Practising Law Institute

Jenner & Block Partner Jessie K. Liu spoke at the Practising Law Institute’s “Current Developments in Federal Civil Practice 2014” seminar on January 29.  Jessie offered insights on, among other topics, the effect of McIntyre v. Nicastro and Goodyear Dunlop Tires Operations, S.A. v. Brown on personal jurisdiction law; the potential impact on personal jurisdiction law of two cases before the Supreme Court this term, DaimlerChrysler v. Bauman and Walden v. Fiore; theFederal Courts Jurisdiction and Venue Clarification Act of 2011 and subsequent caselaw; and the application of Twombly and Iqbal four years after those decisions.  The event was held at the PLI New York Center.  The firm is a Privileged Member of PLI with unlimited access to PLI’s live programs and webcasts at no cost. 

Jessie is a member of the Litigation Department and the White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice.  She focuses on advising and defending government contractors and other companies facing investigations, enforcement actions, and litigation.  She has substantial experience in the False Claims Act.
