"Global Legal Strategies for Managing Change and Mitigating Risk: 2013 and Beyond," Lex Mundi Insurance and Reinsurance Cross-Border Legal Summit, Munich, Germany

Jenner & Block Partners David M. Greenwald and John H. Mathias, Jr. attended the recent Lex Mundi Insurance and Reinsurance Cross-Border Legal Summit in Munich.  Organized by the Lex Mundi Insurance and Reinsurance Practice Group, the Summit was attended by more than 30 member firm lawyers from around the world.  Attendees discussed timely topics such as evolving regulatory requirements, entry into emerging markets and structuring of multinational policies.  John, who serves as the Group’s regional vice chair for North America, is quoted a news release about the event saying that, through the Group, “we are able to help clients stay abreast of important developments in other jurisdictions and provide coordinated advice when necessary.”  The news release was picked up by media outlets including the San Francisco Chronicle.  Lex Mundi is the most prestigious referral network of independent, top-tier law firms in 121 countries; it counts more than 160 member firms, but only one firm is selected in each jurisdiction, and Jenner & Block is the member firm for Illinois.

David is co-chair of the firm’s Reinsurance Practice and a member of the Insurance Litigation and Counseling, Domestic and International Arbitration and Bankruptcy Practices. He litigates in courts throughout the country, and he represents clients in domestic and international arbitrations.  He is a frequent speaker on topics relating to privilege, ethics, e-discovery, and insurance and reinsurance.

John is chair of the firm’s award-winning Insurance Litigation and Counseling Practice and a member of the Reinsurance, International Arbitration, Complex Commercial Litigation, Class Action, and Labor and Employment practices.  He is a veteran trial lawyer who focuses on complex business litigation, including disputes related to contracts, insurance coverage, employment, class actions, professional liability and intellectual property.
