Jenner & Block Partner Timothy J. Chorvat spoke on January 9, 2014 as part of a Cook County Circuit Court seminar on “E-Discovery in State & Federal Court and Use of Mediation to Resolve Disputes.”  Tim addressed current Illinois state-court rules concerning e-discovery, as well as proposed amendments to those rules.  The other panelists were former Cook County Circuit Court Judge Allen Goldberg, former United States Magistrate Judge Nan Nolan and attorney Daniel Graham.  The seminar was held in Chicago’s Daley Center as part of a continuing series of CLE sessions hosted by the Circuit Court’s Law Division.

Tim is a litigator who focuses on securities, class action and bankruptcy-related matters.  He is chair of the Illinois State Bar Association’s Civil Practice and Procedure Section Council and a former chair of the American Bar Association Cyberspace Law Committee’s Working Group on Electronic Evidence.  He is also a member of the Electronic Discovery in Bankruptcy Cases Working Group of the ABA’s Committee on Bankruptcy Court Structure and the Insolvency Process.  Tim was recently admitted as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales.
