Jenner & Block Partner Thomas C. Newkirk spoke at the SEC Institute’s 29th Annual SEC Reporting & FASB Forum on November 18. The two-day event, which took place in Arlington, Va.., offers a comprehensive update on SEC reporting, combined with in-depth discussions and analysis of today's most relevant topics.  Tom’s session, “Staying Out of Trouble – SEC Enforcement and Litigation Update,” focused on SEC enforcement and the current litigation landscape.

Tom is co-chair of the Securities Litigation Practice and a member of the Securities Practice and the Subprime Litigation Task Force.  Before joining Jenner & Block, he was a senior official with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.  He represents companies and their leaders in confidential SEC  investigations related to such issues as accounting, disclosure, insider trading, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and related litigation
