“SEC Enforcement: Is More Needed?” Columbia Law School

Jenner & Block Partner Neil M. Barofsky will speak at a Columbia Law School event that will explore developments in securities regulation. Titled “Hot Topics: Leading Current Issues in Securities Regulation and Enforcement,” the one-day symposium will focus on the most difficult issues now confronting financial regulators and enforcers.  Neil’s panel, “SEC Enforcement: Is More Needed?” will assess recent enforcement initiatives at the SEC and Department of Justice.  The Hon. Jed S. Rakoff of the Southern District of New York will moderate, and Neil will join panelists including SEC Commissioner Daniel M. Gallagher.  The symposium will be held November 15 at the Law School’s Jerome Greene Hall. 

Neil is a member of the Securities Litigation and Enforcement, White Collar Defense and Investigations  and Government Controversies and Public Policy Litigation Practices.  A former federal prosecutor, he served as the chief watchdog of the historic $700 billion federal bailout adopted in response to the 2008 financial crisis.
