Uniform Commercial Code Permanent Editorial Board Meeting; Annual Letter of Credit Law Summit

Jenner & Block Partner Carter H. Klein participated in the meeting of the Permanent Editorial Board of the Uniform Commercial Code on October 19, 2013, in New York, where proposed amendments to the UCC, proposed amendments to the Official Comments to the UCC and commentaries on various sections and cases under the UCC were reviewed and discussed. 

Carter also participated as a panelist or moderator on five panels of speakers at the two-day Annual Letter of Credit Law Summit held in New York City on October 24-25, 2103, at the offices of Bingham McCutchen.  Carter’s panels were on the topics of jurisdiction over letter of credit issuers,  bankruptcy issues affecting letter of credit participants, duty to mitigate damages by beneficiaries, governmentally mandated forms of letters of credit and alternative confirmation forms under the ISP 98. 

Carter is a member of the Corporate, Corporate Finance and Bankruptcy, Workout and Corporate Reorganization Practices. He concentrates his practice on Uniform Commercial Code work, secured and unsecured lending, asset sales and purchases, trade finance, outsourcing, payments, financial services and regulation and credit enhancements and workouts.
