Jenner & Block Partner Richard L. Stone will speak at the 2013 Entertainment Business Law Seminar about the how the broadcast television industry is changing legally as well as technologically.  Titled “Changing the Channel: Recent Cases and Developments Redefining the Television Landscape,” Rick’s session will explore timely issues surrounding traditional broadcasting, cable and satellite, online services and mobile apps.  The seminar is sponsored by CMJ and the Entertainment, Arts & Sports Law Section of the New York Bar Association.  It will be held October 18, 2013, at New York University’s Helen and Martin Kimmel Center for University Life, 60 Washington Square S., New York, NY. 

Rick is a member of the Content, Media & Entertainment Practice.  In 2013, the Daily Journal named him among the “Top 100 Lawyers in California,” noting his victories on behalf of television studios against online television streaming services that transmit TV signals digitally without paying licensing fees. The Daily Journal also recognized him as one of the “Top IP Litigators in California,” and The Hollywood Reporter honored him as one of the top 100 “Power Lawyers” in the country.
