Jenner & Block Partner Jessie K. Liu participated in a Practising Law Institute seminar that explored a range of issues regarding banking and brokerage regulation, including the dangers of broker-dealer enforcement and recent changes in the rules of professional responsibilities.  Jessie’s topic, “The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and Extraterritoriality After Kiobel,”  focused on FCPA enforcement against foreign firms and individuals and how enforcement might be affected by the Supreme Court’s recent decision in Kiobel v. Royal Dutch Petroleum, a key case on the extraterritorial reach of U.S. statutes.  Called “Ethics in Banking and Financial Services 2013,” the seminar was held on August 8, 2013, in New York City.

Jessie is a member of the White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice.  She focuses on advising and defending government contractors and other companies facing investigations, enforcement actions, and litigation.  She has substantial experience in the False Claims Act.
