Jenner & Block Partner Thomas J. Perrelli spoke at the National Mortgage Settlement Conference: A Historic State-Federal Investigation, Negotiation, and Agreement, an event that examined the landmark $25 billion settlement between various state and federal agencies and the nation’s five largest mortgage services. A former U.S. Associate Attorney General, Mr. Perrelli was a panelist at a session titled “The Rise of Subprime Loans and the Housing Collapse: The State and Federal Response.” He offered on his role in leading the negotiations on behalf of the federal government that led to the settlement and on the many challenges to fashioning the framework for the unprecedented national settlement. The conference was held February 22 at the Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
Mr. Perrelli is a nationally recognized litigator who re-joined Jenner & Block as a partner in 2012 after serving for three years as Associate Attorney General of the United States. He is the founder and chair of the Government Controversies and Public Policy Litigation Practice. He represents businesses, governmental entities and their leaders at the intersection of law, business and government regulation.
