Jenner & Block Partner Susan J. Kohlmann was a speaker at a New York City Bar program titled, “Boot Camp 2009: Basic Training for Lawyers,” held October 13-14 in New York. This program provided recent law graduates and current law students with career planning information in a troubled economy and offered practical and substantive insights into the practice of law.

Ms. Kohlmann spoke on October 14 in a panel titled, “Adding Value: How to Stand Out and Hit the Ground Running,” which discussed how to stand out as a junior attorney and become an indispensable part of a firm’s legal team or practice group. She also addressed several professional development topics including work habits, time management, professionalism, and honing a specialty or expertise.

Ms. Kohlmann is Chair of the Firm’s Unfair Competition, False Advertising and Lanham Act Practice and is a member of the member of Litigation Department and Creative Content Practices. Ms. Kohlmann is an experienced commercial litigator with extensive trial experience in state and federal courts as well as arbitration proceedings. She has handled and tried a variety of complex litigation matters, including, among other things, copyright, trademark and trade secret disputes. In addition, Ms. Kohlmann serves as Chair of the New York City Bar’s Committee to Enhance Diversity, and is also a member of the Board of Legal Momentum and New York Lawyers for the Public Interest.
