Jenner & Block Partner Jessica Ring Amunson moderated the January 22, 2013 meeting of the Edward Cook Appellate Inn of Court, which focused on the life and career of the late Judge Henry Friendly of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.  Ms. Amunson discussed Judge Friendly’s life and work with David Dorsen, author of the award-winning biography, Henry Friendly: Greatest Judge of His Era, and Judge Merrick Garland of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit, a former law clerk to Judge Friendly.  The Edward Coke Appellate Inn of Court is the first Inn of Court specializing in appellate practice.

A member of the Edward Coke Appellate Inn of Court, Ms. Amunson also serves on the D.C. Circuit Judicial Conference’s Standing Committee on Pro Bono Legal Services, to which she was appointed in 2009.  She concentrates her practice in appellate and Supreme Court matters and has significant experience briefing and arguing matters before both federal and state appellate courts.  Ms. Amunson often assists in merits and amicus briefing before the United States Supreme Court and has worked on appeals and petitions for certiorari spanning a range of topics, including First Amendment issues, contract disputes and administrative law matters. Ms. Amunson’s practice also focuses on election law and redistricting.
