"Insurance Implications of Super Storm Sandy," HB Litigation Conference, New York, NY

Jenner & Block Partners Matthew L. Jacobs, Linda D. Kornfeld and Lorelie S. Masters are on the Leadership Panel and will speak at a one-day HB Litigation Conference titled “Insurance Implications of Super Storm Sandy,” which will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, beginning at 8 a.m. EST, at Jenner & Block’s New York office.  The program will address questions about all aspects of the claim process regarding damage from Sandy, including causes of loss, the adjustment process and investigation, business interruption coverage and how to measure lost profits.  There will also be an open forum segment, during which attendees will be able to ask the speakers specific questions. 

Mr. Jacobs is a member of the Firm’s Insurance Litigation and Counseling and Reinsurance Practices.  He is a litigator who handles complex, multi-party insurance coverage matters in state and federal courts and also regularly advises Fortune 500 companies in the placement of various types of insurance coverage.  Mr. Jacobs has been recognized by clients and peers in Chambers USA Client’s Guide for Insurance and the Legal Media Group’s Guide to the World’s Leading Insurance and Reinsurance Lawyers.  In 2010, he was recognized as “Author of the Year – Insurance USA” by the Lexology Legal Writing Awards.  Mr. Jacobs has been named a Washington, DC “Super Lawyer,” and among Washington, DC’s “Best Lawyers.”

Ms. Kornfeld is a member of the Firm’s Insurance Litigation and Counseling Practice.  She represents corporate and individual policyholders in high-stakes insurance coverage litigation.  She has helped clients ranging from telecommunications companies and real estate developers to manufacturers and nonprofit organizations obtain substantial recoveries in a variety of insurance matters.
