"Service Provider Risks: How to Protect Your PII When Dealing with Third Parties," International Association of Privacy Professionals, Los Angeles, CA

Jenner & Block Partner Mary Ellen Callahan spoke at an International Association of Privacy Professionals’ (IAPP) program in Los Angeles on November 19, 2012.  Ms. Callahan’s talk was titled “Service Provider Risks: How to Protect Your PII When Dealing with Third Parties.”  The International Association of Privacy Professionals is the largest and most comprehensive global information privacy community and resource, with more than 10,000 members in 70 countries.  The program at which Ms. Callahan spoke was a part of the IAPP’s KnowledgeNet series, complimentary networking and educational sessions for IAPP members that are held in various locations throughout the world.

Ms. Callahan, a nationally recognized privacy attorney with an extensive background in consumer protection law, is the founder and Chair of the Firm’s Privacy and Information Governance Practice.  The former Chief Privacy Officer of the United States Department of Homeland Security, she has a unique and broad knowledge of and experience with the interface of the protection of privacy, civil rights and civil liberties with cybersecurity and national security issues.
