Jenner & Block Partner Reid J. Schar gave a presentation titled “The Blagojevich Corruption Trial,” on November 27, 2012, at the 2012 Legal & Ethics Conference of the Indiana Office of Inspector General & State Ethics Commission in Indianapolis.  Drawing on his experience as lead prosecutor in the corruption trials of former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, Mr. Schar discussed lessons learned regarding investigating and prosecuting corruption cases and instituting best business practices.

Mr. Schar is a member of the firm’s White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice.  A recent addition to Jenner & Block, Mr. Schar is a former assistant U.S. attorney who has tried more than 20 criminal cases, many involving complex fraud and financing issues.  He has led a number of grand jury investigations into complex corruption and financial matters and has briefed and argued 10 appeals in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
