Jenner & Block Partner Howard S. Suskin will moderate a panel discussion titled “Current Developments and Trends in Securities Class Actions,” during Law Seminars International’s Second Annual Comprehensive Conference on Litigating Class Actions on December 6–7, 2012 in Chicago. The panel discussion, which will take place on Friday, December 7 at 2:30 p.m., will examine topics including the impact of recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions in this arena; the outlook for the Court’s next term; and strategies and defenses for class actions arising from mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Suskin is Co-Chair of the Firm’s Class Action Practice and a member of the Securities Litigation and Enforcement and International Arbitration Practices. He is also a member of the Firm’s Subprime Litigation Task Force and serves on the Firm’s Management Committee. Mr. Suskin has substantial first-chair experience in civil and criminal securities matters and counsels clients in such matters as class actions alleging securities fraud and misrepresentation claims, derivative actions claiming breach of fiduciary duty, contests for corporate control, insider trading investigations and broker-dealer disputes. He also counsels and represents clients in connection with securities administrative and self-regulatory organization investigations and proceedings and in arbitrations.
Mr. Suskin is an active member of the ABA Securities Law Committee, including serving as co-chair of the Class and Derivative Actions Subcommittee. He speaks and writes extensively on issues relating to securities law and class actions.
